In 2011, the producer and screenwriter Letícia Tórgo founded DA GAVETA PRODUÇÕES in Brazil. In July 2014, she moved to Montreal and founded FROM THE DRAWER. The main objective of this organization is to help artists to develop their careers and to live their talents. To do this, she offers them services adapted to their needs.
Cultural manager, writer, and tourism specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in social communication, a bachelor’s degree in screenplay for films and television, a postgraduate degree in creation and production for film and television, an MBA in marketing and an MBA in tourism and business.
As a cultural manager, she has worked in the soap opera “Belíssima” and the miniseries “Amazônia: De Galvez à Chico Mendes” on TV Globo and in theatrical performances: “Meeting with Fernando Pessoa”, “Women’s scenic difficulty”, “The devil is dressed in Sahara”, “Dona Flor and her two husbands”, presented in more than 30 cities across Brazil between 2007 and 2011, “The Mark of Zorro” and “As Paparutas”, a show for children written by Lázaro Ramos.
She has also produced the short film “The Case Libras”, winner of the Los Angeles Film Festival and selected in Tribeca New York, the Edinburgh Festival, the Amazon Festival and the Petropolis Festival. She was the screenwriter of the series “Os Figuras” aired between August and September 2012 in Multishow channel.
She is specialized in Brazillian grants to encourage culture. She has also worked for the Ministry of Culture of Brazil between March 2010 and June 2013.
She wrote her first fiction book “A window for nine brothers” based on the history of her family in the town of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul in June 2013. In January 2014, she wrote and produced the children’s play “The Prince of Why” where she signed the screenplay the production and a book. She is also responsible for the television series “The Traveler, the mission to write a travel guide”, inspired by the “Creative Guide for Independent travelers” currently in commercialization.
